                Worked with editor to develop list of chapters and contacts. Researched primary literature and interviewed scientists. Wrote 11 chapters (approx. 8,000-9,000 words each) on various aspects of heart, lung, and blood research. (June, 1997-present)

                Edited original scientific papers on Wilms' tumor, literature review paper on restenosis, grant applications. (October, 1997-present)

              Research Assistant, University of Puerto Rico, Terrestrial Ecology Division

                Helped conduct census of trees in 16-hectare tropical rainforest plot. Measured and identified trees; assisted with data entry (Paradox 4.5). (June-September, 1995; June-August, 1996)

                Reported on hearings and markups of legislation for weekly newsletter. Researched and wrote about various aspects of women's health and health policy for inclusion in Women's Health Equity Act briefing paper. (January-May, 1996)

              Third, theater troupe

                McLean, VA. With two other members, wrote, designed, directed, and performed three-woman theater piece. Parts of the script received second prize in the Source Theater's 1995 10-minute play competition. (June-August, 1994)
